Review: Singapore Airlines First Class Suites on the Airbus A380
I recently flew the iconic Singapore Airlines First Class Suites on the Airbus A380 for the first time, traveling nonstop from Singapore to Delhi. From the private check-in terminal at Changi to the double bed at 35,000 feet, every detail was meticulously executed.

How to book Singapore Airlines First Class Suites
Finding First Class Suites availability can be notoriously difficult, but I managed to lock in two connected suites on the exact same flight using credit card points.
To find the award availability without manually searching, I set up custom flight alerts using the Roame award flight search tool and booked the moment I received the text alert. (Unfortunately, Singapore Airlines now makes it almost impossible to search award flights now.)

I transferred American Express points directly to the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer loyalty program. For this short-haul route from Singapore to Delhi, award redemptions start at 49,500 miles for saver fares, though it's much easier to find advantage fares for 98,000 miles.
Pro Tip: While Singapore Airlines does not release Suites nor First Class award space to partner programs, you can regularly find availability directly through the KrisFlyer program.
To figure out which credit card points transfer into Singapore Airlines before you book, consult the transfer partner cheat sheet.

Private First Class Check-in at Singapore Changi Airport
Singapore Airlines provides a dedicated First Class Check-in Reception building at Changi Terminal 3 specifically for First Class and Solitaire PPS Club passengers.
It is a completely separate driveway entrance where curbside staff greet you the moment your car stops, taking your luggage directly off your hands. It was giving high-end "White Lotus" luxury resort vibes.
Instead of standing at a traditional counter, you are ushered into a private lounge where you rest on plush couches while agents process your passports and hand-deliver your boarding passes.
From there, you led by a Singapore Airlines agent to a private immigration channel with zero wait time.
Singapore Airlines Suites Class Lounge - The Private Room
Before the flight, I hung out at The Private Room, which is only open to First and Suites Class passengers on Singapore Airlines operated flights.
Note: Star Alliance partner First Class passengers do not have access and have to use the Krisflyer First Class Lounge next door.
The Private Room feels like a private sanctuary in a busy airport. It’s an extremely quiet ~10,000 square feet lounge that fits a maximum of 78 guests. There was only two other travelers there and it was the middle of the day.
The main seating area has a large area with lots of couches. Along the walls there are segmented “rooms” for privacy.
There are also 4 private sleeping rooms that can be reserved for 2 hours at a time and 3 shower suites.
For dining, they have an extensive à la carte menu where you can order anything you want. We tried for Lobster Bisque, dim sum platter, and assorted satay. Quite tasty!
For drinks I tried the 2013 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne and the 2007 Charles Heidsieck blanc des millénaires (both bottles retails for ~$200).
Cabin & Seats
When it was time to board, we walked straight through the Suites Class only line directly onto the upper deck of the massive A380.
We were greeted by name by nearly every crew member lining the entryway.
The cabin features just six suites in a spacious 1-1 layout. Rather than converting your armchair into a flat bed, you get a dedicated 270-degree swiveling leather armchair upholstered by Poltrona Frau, alongside a completely separate, stowaway bed. While the separate swivel chair is nice in concept, it does not recline and you are swiveled to face the entrance of the suite during dinner service. It can feel quite awkward.
We chose Suites 1A and 2A because they could be connected into 1 suite. Row 1 suites are extra-large, offering approximately 54 square feet of personal floor space. This makes them among the largest individual suites in commercial aviation.
Each suite features 5-foot-high privacy walls, a smooth sliding door, and a full personal wardrobe closet that easily accommodates carry-on luggage and garments.
If you are traveling with a companion, the middle partition between 1A/2A (or 1F/2F) can be lowered to form a massive double suite space.

Entertainment & Amenities
In Suite 1A, you are treated to two separate screens: a wall-mounted display and a main 32-inch HD touchscreen monitor mounted on a motorized swivel arm.

All room controls, including the 10-zone ambient lighting, window shades, and flight attendant calls, are managed via a detachable 7-inch tablet docking in the armrest.
Singapore Airlines also provides top-of-the-line Bang & Olufsen noise-canceling headphones.
Amenity-wise, we were presented with a signature Lalique amenity kit alongside Lalique-branded pajamas and slippers.
The kit included full-size skincare items and a bottle of Lalique Encre Indigo cologne (though the scent was not for me).
Unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi is provided for First Class passengers, though speeds during our flight were occasionally spotty.
Dining - Food & Drinks
The onboard culinary service was nothing short of spectacular. Upon settling into the suite, the crew immediately poured a welcome glass of 2015 Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne (retailing around $350 per bottle). For dinner we were served the 2005 Chateau Leoville Poyferre (also retailing around $375 per bottle).
Singapore Airlines is famous for its "Book the Cook" service, which allows First Class passengers to pre-order from a menu of over 60 gourmet dishes up to 24 hours prior to departure. Overwhelmed by the options, I defaulted to the classic Lobster Thermidor, which was rich and perfectly cooked.
The main meal service also featured an appetizer course of premium Kaluga Queen caviar accompanied by traditional garnishes, concluding with a light strawberry shortcake for dessert.
Bathroom & Toiletries
While Singapore Airlines opted not to install onboard showers like Emirates or Etihad, they made up for it through sheer spatial luxury.
There are two massive lavatories dedicated exclusively to the six First Class passengers. The primary bathroom on the starboard side features a full sit-down vanity desk with a plush leather stool, a full-length mirror, and dedicated ring-lit vanity mirrors.
The interior finishes utilize a high-end palette of grey faux marble, dark walnut wood paneling, and soft beige walls, with even the toilet discreetly disguised beneath a padded leather bench seat.
Sleeping Experience
Unlike almost every first-class product where the seat converts into a bed, Singapore Airlines provides a completely separate, stowaway 76-inch flatbed. You can easily transition between the chair and bed at will.
When we were ready for bed, the crew transformed our individual rooms into a massive 97-square-foot (9 square meters) double suite. You can then combine the single beds into 1 shared double bed. The single bed is 27 inches wide and the double bed is 54 inches wide. It felt like a real bed.
The bed is dressed in ultra-premium Lalique-embroidered linens, featuring a plush mattress topper, dual pillows, and a heavy cotton duvet. Because the bed is a dedicated surface, it feels way more stable and supportive than a reconfigured chair.
Even when lights were off for sleeping, there was an attendant in a seat in the aisle offering to help.
Unfortunately, the only thing missing was the Singapore Airlines teddy bear. It was not offered and I also forgot to ask.
Final Thoughts: (10/10)
I would 100% go out of my way fly again if I can find more points availability.
