After getting through security, Haneda’s Terminal 1 has two Power Lounges, one located on the North and the other located on the South. Coincidentally, they are named Power Lounge North and Power Lounge South. This article will review my visit to the North Power Lounge, which turned out to be a huge disappointment.

According to the Priority Pass website, this lounge is open from 9 am to 4 pm everyday.

Finding The Power Lounge North In Haneda Airport Terminal 1

This lounge is located on the... you guessed it... the North Wing of Haneda’s airport. You’ll really need to follow the signs towards Gate 129 because it is a bit confusing to figure out where exactly you are in this massive terminal.
Checking Into The Power Lounge North In Haneda Airport Terminal 1
When you check in and present your Priority Pass, the staff have to go through a different procedure than typical. They have to pull out their Priority Pass machine and scan you in separately. Then, you have to sign and confirm that you have no guests. The lounge is unable to verify if you owe any money or not, so you do have to take a small leap of faith there.
There’s a variety of art scatted around the check-in area and a lot of people waiting in line.
Impressions Of The Power Lounge South In Haneda Airport Terminal 1: Meh
All the Power Lounges are particularly interesting.
They only have free drinks—there is no free food here. I view them as essentially glorified seating areas; they really lack anything that makes them particularly interesting outside of a clean working space with lots of outlets.
There’s tons of seating, with big long tables in the middle of the room that can support a significant number of people. As you can see, this lounge is really busy.
There’s food and alcohol for purchase, alongside complimentary juices, coffee, and water.
If you don’t want to share a table with a stranger, there’s plenty of solo seats that you can use throughout the lounge.
The lounge also has great views of the tarmac.
My Overall Rating Of Power Lounge North In Haneda Terminal 1: A Deserved 3/10
I rate lounges based on a few general criteria:
  • Food Quality & Variety: 1/10
  • Cleanliness: 9/10
  • Interior Design: 3/10
  • Unique Amenities: 2/10

The Power Lounges all look about the same: essentially, a glorified seating area. Notably, the South version of this lounge basically is a mirror copy of this one. In either case, I would not say that there’s anything special about this lounge. However, if you come in with low expectations and simply anticipate a nice seating area, this could be a great place for you to work, charge your devices, and use a clean bathroom.
