Blue
20% Transfer Bonus
Avianca is a partner with many transferable points programs, and we regularly see transfer bonuses to LifeMiles from other partners ranging from 15% to 25%. For Bilt Blue members, this is a solid option if you have an upcoming award to book. However, it may not be worth making speculative transfers unless you’re confident in your travel plans.
The higher membership tiers unlock transfer bonuses well beyond the best we’ve seen from any transferable points program to Avianca LifeMiles. For Platinum members in particular, the 100% bonus might even justify a speculative transfer given the consistently strong award chart values LifeMiles offers for premium cabins.
This promotion runs from 12:00 am ET through 11:59 pm PT on February 1, 2025, only.
What else is happening this November 2024 Rent Day?
The Bilt card often includes a range of additional promotions on the first day of the month, and this one is no exception:
- J Balvin Tickets & Limited Edition Coffee: Celebrate J Balvin’s "Back to the Rayo" tour with exclusive tickets and a Colombian coffee blend. For 10,000 points or $200, you’ll receive a limited-edition canister of coffee and two floor seat tickets to the concert in your chosen city. This offer goes live at 12:00 pm ET on February 1, 2025 in the Bilt app.
- Bilt Neighborhood Cafe Opening in New York: Celebrate the opening of the new Bilt Neighborhood Cafe in New York City with a complimentary coffee and chocolate chip cookie when you show your membership in the Bilt app.
Rent day in general runs these exciting benefits as well:
- Double Points on the First: Cardholders will earn double points on all purchases (excluding rent, which earns 1x), but only on February 1st and ends 11:59 PM PT. A maximum of 10,000 bonus points can be earned and cardholders must still use their card 5 times each statement period to earn points.
- Soulcycle Rent Day Rides: Members can receive a complimentary bike in the special-themed class when booking directly through the Bilt Rewards app beginning January 28th.
- Bilt’s Rent Free game show: Family Feud-style game show (this month with J Balvin) to earn free rent for the top 10 winners.
Is This A Good Use Of My Points?
Avianca LifeMiles has a strong set of sweet spots that can provide great redemptions, despite a recent devaluation. Be careful though, as LifeMiles has a pretty harsh expiration policy. Miles will expire after 12 months for members and after 24 months for elite members with no account activity.
- Long-Haul Flights to Europe for 70K pts: LifeMiles nonstop business class fares to/from Europe price at just 70,000 pts each way, with minimal taxes/fees (fuel surcharges are not passed onto the user). You can typically find these fares on the LifeMiles website and book them online.
- Intra-United States from 10K pts: Use LifeMiles to book one-way United flights from 10,000 points within one region in the U.S., with rates only crawling up slightly to go across all three “zones”.
U.S. to Oceania In Business Class for 80K pts: You can book flights on partner airlines to Oceanie using LifeMiles for just 80,000 miles with minimal taxes/fees (fuel surcharges are not passed onto the user). Unfortunately, Oceania award flights are considered extremely difficult to find (but set up Roame alerts to make your life much easier!).
- Have a specific redemption in mind, like domestic flights on American or Alaska Airlines.
- Are a Bilt Platinum member and can take advantage of the huge transfer bonus.
Conclusion
Bilt’s February Rent Day is another chance to unlock great value from your points. The 20%-100% transfer bonus to Avianca LifeMiles makes this an excellent opportunity for those with upcoming travel plans. And if you’re in the higher status tiers, the 100% bonus could be worth considering even for speculative transfers.
