Bonus will be based on cardholder status on 7/1/2024, so check your Bilt Rewards status cards to see where you’re at today. Transfer bonuses will be rewarded as follows:

This will be the first time that Alaska Airlines has had a transfer bonus at all! Bilt is currently the only credit card transfer partner for Alaska Airlines. As a oneworld® Alliance member, Alaska Airlines Mileage points can be used with oneworld® Alliance’s 30 airline partners serving more than 1,000 destinations across the United States, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, Japan, Bahamas and more.

However, there is one complication this Rent Day. The transfer bonus will be valid on the first 50,000 Bilt points for each member. Any transfers of more than 50,000 Bilt points to Alaska Airlines miles will not receive a bonus and will be processed as 1:1 transfer.

What else is happening this July 2024 Rent Day?

The Bilt card traditionally runs a promotion the first of every month featuring a wide variety of special bonuses (such as the transfer bonus we talked about above). This rent day, Bilt is also doing the following:

  • Alaska Airlines Status Match: Bilt Platinum Members will be able to activate Alaska MVP Gold Status and Bilt Gold Members will be able to activate Alaska MVP Status. The status will be good through December 31, 2024. To activate the status match, you must transfer 10,000 Bilt points to Alaska Airlines. Note that the 10,000 Bilt points you transfer in order to activate status are not eligible for the Alaska Airlines Transfer Bonus offer and will not be counted towards the 50,000 point limit.
  • Bilt Neighborhood Dining Series: Bilt is launching their new Neighborhood Dining Series. Each month, we will drop all-inclusive reservations at top Bilt Neighborhood Dining restaurants. Each reservation will feature a curated tasting menu with dishes from renowned chefs and a selection of premium cocktails for Bilt Member exclusive pricing. The Neighborhood Dining Series will be available in the following cities: NYC, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas, Austin, Houston, and Washington DC.

Rent day in general runs these exciting benefits as well:

  • Double Points on the First: Cardholders will earn double points on all purchases (excluding rent, which earns 1x), but only on July 1st and ends 11:59 PM PT. A maximum of 10,000 bonus points can be earned and cardholders must still use their card 5 times each statement period to earn points.
  • Soulcycle Rent Day Rides: Members can receive a complimentary bike in the special-themed class when booking directly through the Bilt Rewards app beginning June 28th.

Is This A Good Use Of My Points?

Yes, in most cases, it definitely can be. However, it’s still critical to compare it to using cash to ensure you’re getting the most value out of your points. Let’s take a look at a few examples for each of the programs.

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan

Alaska Airlines has historically been one of the best US airlines to credit your miles to. Alaska Airlines' Mileage Plan stands as a beacon of value in the ever-evolving landscape of airline loyalty programs. Despite recent devaluations, Mileage Plan miles continue to be valuable, offering travelers a range of unique benefits and redemption opportunities. Alaska's partnership with a diverse array of airlines, both within and outside the Oneworld alliance, allows members access to a global network of destinations, at rates that beat the industry trend towards diminished value.

One of Alaska's best redemptions is its West Coast to Tokyo flights. When searching this flight on Google Flights, the cheapest nonstops are typically over $8,000. However, this flight only costs 75,000 points in each direction (business) with $19 in taxes.

For nonstop, that easily brings the point valuation to over 10 cents per point! And if you combine this 75,000 points saver fare with the Bilt Rent Day transfer bonus, you can earn up 13 to 21 cpp.

Conclusion

Bilt’s July Rent Day is one of a kind transfer bonus to Alaska Airlines that we have never seen before. We hope you will be able to find some great Alaska Airlines sweet spots.
