American Express Mirror Card Designs

The Amex Mirror card is the limited-edition mirror finish for The Platinum Card® from American Express. American Express introduced it as part of the September 2025 Platinum refresh, and new or existing eligible Platinum Card Members can choose it instead of another card design.

If your goal is simply to get the shiny Amex Mirror design, you usually do not need to open a new account. Existing cardholders can request a replacement card and select Mirror as the card design when the option is available in their Amex account.

What is the Amex Mirror Platinum Card?

The Amex Mirror Platinum Card is a physical card design for the U.S. Consumer and Business Platinum Cards. It has a reflective mirror-style finish, but it is still the Platinum Card account underneath. The design does not replace the need to evaluate the card's annual fee, credits, rewards, and benefits separately.

American Express describes the Mirror card as a limited-edition design. That means it may not remain available indefinitely, so check your Amex account while the option is still showing.

How to get the Amex Mirror card

The fastest path is to request a replacement card from your online Amex account. The exact labels can vary between desktop and app experiences, but the flow is the same: start a replacement request, choose the reason that you want to change your card design, then select Mirror.

  1. Log in to your American Express account

Open americanexpress.com or the Amex app and sign in to the Platinum Card account you want to update.

  2. Open the card replacement or card management area

On desktop, look under Account Services or Customer Service. You may see Card Management, Replace a Card, or Change Card Design depending on your account experience.

  3. Choose the design-change reason

When Amex asks why you are replacing the card, select the option that says you want to change your card's design.

  4. Select Mirror as the card design

Pick Mirror from the available Platinum card designs. If Mirror does not appear, the design may not be available for that account or card version at that moment.

  5. Confirm the replacement request

Review the shipping details and confirm the order. Amex should show an estimated delivery window after the request is accepted.

6. Confirm the replacement request. When I tried it, Amex showed a delivery date in October; other cardholders have reported different delivery windows, so use the estimate Amex gives you at checkout.

Before you switch to the Mirror design

The Mirror card is mainly a design choice. It can be fun if you want the newest limited-edition Platinum look, but it does not make the Platinum Card a better everyday earner or change the card's underlying terms. If you are deciding whether to keep or apply for the Platinum Card, review the benefits and annual fee separately from the design.

You may also see Amex Mirror cards listed on marketplaces such as eBay. Treat those as collectibles or canceled cards, not as a way to get a usable payment card. For an active card in your name, request the design directly from American Express.

That's it: once Amex confirms the order, your replacement Platinum Card should arrive in the Mirror finish.
