Air Canada Aeroplan and World of Hyatt Launch Major Loyalty Partnership

Air Canada’s Aeroplan and World of Hyatt have joined forces, introducing a comprehensive reciprocal loyalty partnership. Effective July 15, 2026, members who link their accounts can access two-way point transfers, reciprocal redemption options, status fast-track challenges, and accelerated credit card earning rates.

The collaboration represents a significant bridge between one of North America's most versatile airline currencies and a highly regarded hotel loyalty program.

Direct Points Conversions & Redemptions

Historically, transferring points between airline and hotel programs has yielded poor conversion rates. This partnership establishes a direct two-way bridge, though the conversion values differ depending on your direction:

Aeroplan to Hyatt: Aeroplan Elite Status members can convert Aeroplan points to World of Hyatt points at a 2:1 ratio (minimum transfer of 500 points). This is capped at 100,000 Aeroplan points per day or 250,000 points per week.
Hyatt to Aeroplan: Any World of Hyatt member can convert Hyatt points to Aeroplan points at a 2:1 ratio starting at 5,000 points. Alternatively, members can redeem 50,000 Hyatt points for a 30,000-point Aeroplan flight reward certificate.

Redemptions on the Ground and in the Air

The collaboration also introduces unique cross-program award bookings:

Hyatt Free Nights via Aeroplan: Aeroplan members can redeem Aeroplan points directly for World of Hyatt Free Night Awards (Category 1–4 and Category 1–7) starting at 25,000 Aeroplan points.
Airline Stay Preference: Aeroplan members can choose to earn a flat 500 Aeroplan points per stay at participating Hyatt properties in lieu of standard World of Hyatt points.

Status Challenges and Fast Tracks

Elite status holders in both programs receive reciprocal benefits, with several lucrative fast-tracks rolling out.

For Aeroplan Elite Members (Fast-Track to Hyatt Status)

Aeroplan Elite Status members (and eligible premium credit cardholders) can fast-track to World of Hyatt status through a highly competitive annual 90-day challenge:

Discoverist Status: Complete 4 qualifying nights (normally 10 nights required).
Explorist Status: Complete 10 qualifying nights (normally 30 nights required).
Globalist Status: Complete 20 qualifying nights (normally 60 nights required).

Why this matters: A 20-night fast-track to World of Hyatt Globalist—which grants complimentary breakfast, club lounge access, and suite upgrades—is one of the most generous status shortcuts available in the hotel industry.

For World of Hyatt Elite Members (Fast-Track to Aeroplan Status)

Air Canada Flight Credits: Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist members receive an annual $20 CAD Air Canada flight credit upon linking accounts.
Aeroplan Status Challenges: Scheduled to launch later in 2026, World of Hyatt Explorist and Globalist members will gain access to dedicated challenges to fast-track to Aeroplan Elite Status.

Co-Branded Credit Card Boosts

Canadian-issued Aeroplan co-branded credit cardholders receive unique point multipliers on the ground. When using an eligible premium Aeroplan credit card at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts, cardholders can earn up to 2.5 Aeroplan points and 2 World of Hyatt Bonus Points per eligible Canadian dollar spent.
