The hotels 10 Guest Cottages are about 150 metres from the main lodge, with views out over sheep-dotted pastures and surf-lashed Palliser Bay. Neutral, trad-modern decor rules throughout, with squashy sofas, indulgent super-king-size beds and natural materials (think clay tiles, mosaics, plastered walls, cotton bed linen, hemp curtains and carpets in soft NZ wool). All are similar, give or take slight size variations, with sitting areas (inside and out on verandahs), open gas fireplaces, walk-in wardrobes, underfloor heating and luxe bathrooms including warm marble floors, double spa baths, double wash basins and separate showers.
