Guide to Maple Leaf Lounge Access Using the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card

A New Door Opens for Chase Sapphire Reserve Cardholders
Starting from June 2023, Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders traveling on same-day Air Canada, Star Alliance, or any airline ticket can now access select Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges. This benefit stems from an expanded partnership between Chase and Air Canada, building upon their existing collaboration with the Aeroplan® program.
To gain access, you’ll need to use your Priority Pass Select membership, which comes complimentary with the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. While Priority Pass traditionally doesn’t include airline-branded lounges, Air Canada made a special exception for eligible U.S.-issued Priority Pass members, specifically those tied to Chase Sapphire Reserve and The Ritz-Carlton™ Card.

Where Can You Access Maple Leaf Lounges?
This new access is currently available at 11 Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges across 6 major Canadian airports:
- Toronto Pearson (YYZ) – Domestic, Transborder, and International lounges
- Montreal (YUL) – Domestic, Transborder, and International lounges
- Vancouver (YVR) – Domestic, Transborder, and International lounges
- Calgary (YYC) – Concourses A and C
- Edmonton (YEG)
- Ottawa (YOW)
Note: Maple Leaf Lounges located outside of Canada (e.g., Paris, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, or LAX) are not part of this benefit. These remain restricted to Aeroplan elites, Star Alliance business class passengers, or eligible Air Canada premium travelers.

What You Need to Enter
To access the lounge, you must meet all of the following:
- Have an active Priority Pass membership linked to your Chase Sapphire Reserve (you must enroll separately).
- Present a same-day departing boarding pass. This can be on any airline, not just Air Canada or Star Alliance.
Space permitting – Access is not guaranteed and depends on lounge capacity at the time of arrival.
This gives Chase Sapphire Reserve users a new premium experience, especially valuable if you often transit through Canada’s busiest airports.

Why This Matters for Frequent Flyers?
This is a big win for Sapphire Reserve cardholders who often fly through Canada. Previously, Maple Leaf Lounge access was reserved for paid Aeroplan elite members, Star Alliance business class travelers, or those holding premium fares. With this change, even economy flyers can grab a pre-flight drink, get work done, or relax in a quiet lounge space—without paying extra.
And because Priority Pass lounge access already includes 1,300+ other airport lounges globally, this expansion makes the Sapphire Reserve even more powerful for cross-border travel.
Final Thoughts
If you're planning travel through Canadian airports, don’t miss this chance to check out the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges.
As long as you’re flying the same day and hold a Priority Pass membership through your Chase Sapphire Reserve, you’re eligible to walk into select Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges. No Aeroplan status required.
It’s a rare airline-branded lounge access perk, and one more reason to hold the Chase Sapphire Reserve in your wallet.
