Why We Like This Card
This card is initially a compelling option for those who frequent Marriott properties and seek to enrich their travel experiences. With a robust earning structure of 6x points a Marriott Bonvoy® hotels, 4x points at restaurants worldwide and U.S. supermarkets (on up to $15,000 in combined purchases per year), and 2x points on all other eligible purchases, cardholders will be well on their way to earn points rapidly.
Unfortunately, some may perceive the card as providing lackluster value. The Free Night Award, only granted if $15,000 of eligible purchases are charged to the card within the cardmember year, and the automatic Marriott Bonvoy® Gold Elite Status and 15 Elite Night Credits annually, might not be enough for some to justify the moderate annual fee.
The card does uniquely reward paid eligible stays booked directly with Marriott with an extra 1,000 Marriott Bonvoy® bonus points.
